About Syrah

Very dark, rich, powerful wines with great aging potential (as long as 50 years), yet still can be drunk relatively young. Distinct pepper, spice, cherry and leather flavors, with smooth, supple texture. Embodied in majestic wines from France, Australia and, increasingly, California.

Thick fruit, with a tremendous flavor of raspberry through and through. Quite spicy!

Not impressed at all. I expected higher quality. This is rather mundane.

Vinegary smell and taste until left open to breathe. Good with steak or prime rib.

Great with rotisserie pork roas. Great smokey flavor, a little more dry than I prefer.

Really, really dry. Too "oaky" for me.

This wine supprised me. Initially i thought it wasnt my style with all the fruit front, but as i let it stand i was delighted to taste the more complex carthy tannins.

I don't usually like red wines but this one was a pleasant suprise. I enjoyed the taste and the lack of after bite that is usually the norm for a red wine.
