About Merlot

Similar to Cabernet Sauvignon but with less tannin and fruit. Delivers earlier maturing wines. Often blended with Cabernet; on its own may soften with age, though fruit flavors may fade.

It is everything you said it is it was... soft in the mouth, with a subtle lingering finish. Very different from many merlots I have sampled, especially ones that seem to try to imitate a cabernet.

This wine is a little strong on the front of the pallet, but smooth on the back. Overall, a pleasant tasting wine. I would order it in a restaurant if it were available.
