About Merlot

Similar to Cabernet Sauvignon but with less tannin and fruit. Delivers earlier maturing wines. Often blended with Cabernet; on its own may soften with age, though fruit flavors may fade.

Slightly better than the 2005 Rock Hollow Merlot, but still mediocre at best. Not worth the price. Again, no more Merlots.

Nice, very nice. Not particurly leggy, but bright flavors with a mildly peppery finish. Dry, but just dry enough. I like as dry as you can get, but I would say this is a wine even those who are not fond of the high and dry.

This is a versatlile wine that I prefer over Chianti with pasta.

Good for casual dining, wouldn't serve it at an elegant dinner. We did enjoy it.

Fruity aroma with a hint of woodiness in the background. Not as dry and tanniny as most merlots I've sampled. Nice fruitiness in flavor with a tart afterbite somewhat lemony. Quite pallatable and pleasant wine to sip. I would recommend this wine to others.

I really liked this one. It was light for a merlot but the flavor was great and the wine was not dry. Also no bitter after taste. Not too sweet and not too dry. Just right for me.

A great wine to serve with meatloaf. Light bodied for a merlot.

I was turned off to Merlot a few years ago, but this is one that showed me I clearly wasn't enjoying good wines. This was quite smooth and drinkable.

Really did not enjoy this wine. Found it to dry for our taste. Not an appealing wine for us.
