2006 Fontamara Italian Pinot Grigio

2006 Fontamara Italian Pinot Grigio

Bigger and more mouth-filling than typical Italian Pinot Grigio bottlings, this wine has a mild floral aroma that leads to flavors of melon, pear and various tropical fruits. Food pairing suggestions: a fruit and cheese plate, or shrimp with angel hair pasta.

About Pinot Gris

In northeast Italy it makes a light, crisp and neutral wine. In Alsace it can be a delicately perfumed, honey-flavored wine, either dry or sweet, and with more color than most whites.

This is a great summer wine light and refreshing. I loved the fruity flavor and it was very smooth on the pallet.

I love Pinot Grigio wines but this one was just to "sour" tasting to me. i really don't know how else to describe it.

I'm new to everything but White Zinfandel so this is a great adventure. First time having Pinot Grigio and it's just too light for my tastes.

Pinot Grigio is one of our favorites. We generally like a more fruity flavor, but this was very drinkable

The wine was crisp without being too sweet. It had the flavor of grapefriut and lemon. Nice finish.

Not too fond of reds unless they are sweet reds. The exception to that are Zinfindels and Syrahs.
