Argentina's Secret Vineyards Named Wine Spectator 'Smart Buy'

Nestled in the northwest corner of Argentina ... clinging to the eastern foothills of the Andes mountain range at an altitude of 5,250 feet above sea level, the Amalaya Vineyard is quietly hand-crafting some of the Southern Hemisphere's most talked-about red wines.

Frankly, it's not easy to grow grapes so high in the mountains. Yields are amazingly low. But the grapes that are harvested border on the devine. That's because the high altitude brings intense sunlight during the day with cool nights to concentrate the jammy fruit flavor characteristics of the grapes.

As you can imagine, production quantities are limited at the Amalaya Vineyard. But that doesn't mean these wines are unnoticed. This vintage was recently named a Wine Spectator "Smart Buy." So we highly recommend stocking up on this Argentine gem ... before quantities are simply sold out.
