About This Wine
Fried foods can be a real challenge when it comes to selecting a complementary wine.
Mayfield Cellars’ California Chenin Blanc to the rescue! This is a wine that embodies the two characteristics that are key to matching with fried foods: richness and abundant acidity. In most white wines, you get one trait or the other; in this white wine, you get both.
Bringing home KFC tonight? Throwing heart health to the wind and indulging in chicken fried steak? Planning to nosh on deep-fried shrimp or perhaps some breaded veggie appetizers? In all of these cases, Mayfield’s Chenin Blanc should be your go-to wine.
Grapes for this wine were procured from a handful of farmers who specialize in Chenin Blanc, and grow it in areas that provide the ideal environment for the variety. Careful handling in the cellar produced a wine that is the true to the variety in aroma, texture and flavor. Mayfield’s Chenin Blanc is fried food’s best friend.

Old World Rosemary Chicken With Chardonnay This recipe comes from our friends at Belvedere Vineyards & Winery in the Sonoma County town of Healdsburg. It matches wonderfully with Chardonnay, and we've enjoyed it with Chenin Blanc as well. Use it as the main entree for a special meal, or any meal. Get The Recipe
