About This Wine
Jim Gill grew up in a multi-generation farming family.
It was a lot of work at times, but as Gill looks back, he thinks of his upbringing as both a pleasure and an honor. And he cherishes the time he got to spend with his grandfather on the family farm.
“Over the years, he taught me a lot about farming,” Gill recalls. “More importantly, he taught me a lot about life. Then one day, when I was in my teens, he told me it was time to get off the ranch and ‘go chase lions.’ I never asked what he meant by that because something inside me already knew. I’ve been ‘chasing lions’ ever since.”
The Chasing Lions label, made by Gill and his partners at the Nine North Wine Company, pays homage to Gill’s grandfather. The 2010 Chasing Lions Cabernet Sauvignon is a rich wine that deserves a place of honor on the family dinner table.

Cabernet Sauvignon Ice Cream Our friends at Alexander Valley Vineyards came up with this wonderful recipe a few years ago. We've tried it with Cabernet Sauvignon (as the recipe calls for), as well as Merlot, Primitivo, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel... and every time, it turns out delicious! It's best made with an ice cream maker, and if you have such a machine, it's extremely easy to assemble. Enjoy! Get The Recipe
