About This Wine
A single-vineyard wine presents a snapshot of a place and time.
Wine from a variety of vineyards presents a portrait of the winemaker’s preferences. The 2010 Cru “Vineyard Montage” Chardonnay is a portrait of what vintner Ken Post looks for in a top-quality bottle of Chardonnay from California’s Monterey County.
Post utilized perfectly ripened grapes from four vineyards in two distinct areas of the county: the Cobblestone and Marks vineyards in Arroyo Seco, and the Vigna Monte Nero and Paraiso vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Arroyo Seco is a 60-square-mile appellation southeast of Monterey Bay, while the Highlands area overlooks the Salinas Valley and receives abundant morning sunshine, followed by cooling afternoon breezes.
With four lots of fruit and a selection of first-use and previously filled oak barrels, Post was able to craft a Chardonnay cuvee that is rich, medium-bodied, fruitful and spicy. It’s an undeniably delicious sum of its parts.
Relatively easy to grow in a variety of locations. Consistently produces some of the world's great white wines. Complex, full, rich and fruity with soft edges and moderate acidity. Offers rich and intense fruit flavors of apple, fig, melon, pear, peach, pineapple, along with creamy yeast spice, honey, butter and hazelnut flavors.

Old World Rosemary Chicken With Chardonnay This recipe comes from our friends at Belvedere Vineyards & Winery in the Sonoma County town of Healdsburg. It matches wonderfully with Chardonnay, and we've enjoyed it with Chenin Blanc as well. Use it as the main entree for a special meal, or any meal. Get The Recipe
