About This Wine
The story of how a wine got its name is not always all that interesting.
But this one is. The folks who own and operate the Roots Run Deep winery were having a lively discussion about winemaking styles, vineyard sites, and how wine prices don’t always equate with wine quality.
A second bottle was opened, poured and sipped, and the discussion moved on to the classic “art-versus-science” debate. Passionate arguments were made on each side, and then someone said two words that seemed to bring everyone together: “educated guess.” Just like that, a wine brand was born. The phrase certainly applies when one is shopping for wine, as it’s virtually impossible to quantify value.
The idea behind Educated Guess is that the guesswork has been done for you — grape varieties, vineyard sourcing, oak aging and blending. As for value, the 2010 Educated Guess Cabernet Sauvignon also comes with our tasting panel’s seal of approval.
