About This Wine
Can a single vineyard produce multiple grape varieties of exceptional quality?
It’s possible... but given the scientific knowledge available today, highly unlikely. Mindful of this, South African vintner Neil Ellis set out to identify distinct micro-climates in which individual varieties would excel. He placed the emphasis not only on the environment, but also on caring viticultural practices embraced by dedicated growers.
Today, the journey of Neil Ellis Wines is no longer exclusively that of Neil Ellis, but rather a team of young, dedicated vintners harnessed in their pursuit of quality winemaking. And after four decades in the cellar, the next stage of the journey has begun with Ellis’ son, Warren, sharing responsibilities as winemaker and viticulturist.
The Sauvignon Blanc bottling known as “Sincerely” is a great example of the estate’s multiple-vineyard sourcing and forward-looking approach. Using grapes from three distinct growing areas, the wine is delicate and elegant — a sublime expression of the variety.
