About This Wine

Cabernet Sauvignon bottlings and blends are among the most prized wines produced in California.

The 2011 Cabernet from 3 Muses Cellars falls into the latter category. The 3 Muses vintner begins with a base of Cabernet fruit, then tames the tannins by blending in a number of other red varieties. The result is a cuvee that’s smooth and supple — much like Merlot — yet retains the body and personality of Cabernet.

Cabernet Sauvignon has been referred to as the king of red wine grapes, and it’s easy to understand why. Whether made as a 100 percent varietal wine or blended, a la 3 Muse's 2011 bottling, it makes very expressive wines that can be enjoyed with hearty foods such as steaks or stews.

At the same time, well-made Cabs also make wonderful sipping wines — elixirs that can be savored with a good book, your favorite DVD, or a significant other. So pour a glass of 3 Muses Cab, and reward yourself.

About Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep color and richness with the potential to age a long time, and better still if aged in oak before bottling. Classic flavors blackcurrant, plum, cherry and spice. The most popular varietal of red wine in America.

We've had such good luck with the wines you guys have sent us and have enjoyed most all of them. What happened? This shipment we are 3 for 3 in NOT liking them. Couldn't even finish them. Very frustrating!!!! Close to being done with Vinesse.

A dark and rich flavor with good tannins. I could wish for more of them but I didn't know tannins as a "them." A strong, dark coloring of deep opaque night time red. Very attractive.

The first sip produces a sharp tannin taste. This mellowed out as the wine warmed up to room temp. but did not go away Overall the is at best a good low budget wine.

No better than a $5 grocery store wine. Smelled cheap, tasted cheap, with the overwhelming flavor being a cloying sweetness with no complexity - complete waste of money. We tried running it through a Vinturi and it didn't improve at all. We also re-corked it and let it sit overnight, and there was a slight improvement when we tasted it again the following night, which is the only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.

Very good, paired with hamburger, the softest of this wine leaves you wanting another glass.
