About This Wine
In recent years, New Zealand has become a hotbed of exceptional Sauvignon Blanc wines.
Dashwood Wines has been producing Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc since 1989. ?The Dashwood label was developed by Vavasour Wines to bring the luscious, clean fruit characteristics of the Wairau Valley into harmony with the flinty, or mineral-like, personality of the Awatere (which results from the comparatively cooler temperatures and slightly less fertile soils).
Dashwood wines are made in an early-drinking style, and have been embraced by wine drinkers all over the world because they’re also fairly priced. Sauvignon Blanc of similar quality from other Marlborough estates or the Bordeaux region of France often cost twice as much.
The 2011 Dashwood Sauvignon Blanc once again delivers not only in value, but also in pure drinking pleasure. Perfect for a cool summertime aperitif after a long day on the job, it also pairs perfectly with seared scallops, grilled shrimp or sushi.
About Sauvignon Blanc
Notable "grassy" aroma, often with notes of apple and citrus fruits. High acidity. Can amaze as a late harvest wine, with rich and complex flavors.
