About This Wine
The Trocard family has deep roots in the Bordeaux winegrowing region of France.
Family records indicate that the Trocards’ love affair with the land and grape growing began in 1918. In the nearly 100 years since, three generations of family members have nurtured the tradition, today led by Jean-Louis Trocard.
In fact, when it’s noted that Jean-Louis is following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, the observation can be taken literally. Jean-Louis works in the very same cellar where they practiced their craft, and many of their vintages are stored in that cellar — providing Jean-Louis with a daily reminder of where he came from.
The 2011 Trocard “Bordeaux Blanc” embodies the classic regional blend of about four-fifths Sauvignon Blanc and about one-fifth Semillon. The wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to retain its natural fruitfulness, as well as its sense of “place” — in this case, a very special place.
