About This Wine
Like so many great European wine estates, Chile’s Viña Koyle has a strong family heritage.
“Viña Koyle was born from a tradition that runs in our blood,” a family spokesperson tells us. “We are a family dedicated to wine for more than six generations, since Don Francisco Undurraga Vicuña began in 1885. We seek to express the authentic sense of origin and terroir, delivering elegant wines, with great freshness and a unique expression.”
Today, that means embracing Biodynamic agriculture so that the vines are healthy and will stay that way for the generations to come. The Koyle vineyards also benefit from the fresh breezes that come down the slopes of the Andes.
The 2012 Koyle “Gran Reserva” Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied wine that gains complexity from the addition of small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It’s another great wine that contributes to the Koyle legacy.
