About This Wine
Combine a legendary winery with a legendary vineyard, and you have the makings of a legendary wine.
Over the past three decades, MacRostie Winery and Vineyards has established itself as one of the Sonoma Coast’s defining wineries. Today, MacRostie is guided by Sonoma County visionary and winery founder Steve MacRostie, and talented winemaker Heidi Bridenhagen.
The grapes for this 2013 Chardonnay came from two blocks of the Sangiacomo Vineyard called Green Acres and Rich Kiser, each adding a distinct flavor profile. The Sangiacomo family has been growing grapes around the town of Sonoma for three generations and their fruit is highly prized for its consistent quality.
When the blend was assembled, 12 barrels were chosen, two of which had never seen wine before and 10 having been used for previous vintages of wine. This provides a balance of rich flavors and subtle tannin — the signature MacRostie Chardonnay style of oak nuance.
