Why do we love Merlot?
Let us count the ways. We love Merlot because it matures sooner than more “forceful” wines, which means you can enjoy it while those other wines are aging and mellowing out. We love Merlot because it makes a perfect “transition” wine for friends who have been drinking rosé and white wines, and are ready to give reds a try.
We love Merlot because it’s grown successfully in an array of microclimates, from fairly cool to fairly hot. We love Merlot because it pairs beautifully with some of our favorite food, including pasta with red sauces, chicken casseroles, other light-meat dishes, seasoned red meats and some vegetarian fare.
Yes, there are lots of reasons to love Merlot, especially when it’s as good as the 2015 vintage from Quail Hollow Winery. Sourced from vineyards in several California regions, it’s a cuvee that could become your “house red.”

We've tried it with Cabernet Sauvignon as the recipe calls for, as well as Merlot, Primitivo, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel... and every time, it turns out delicious!
