About This Wine
La Marca Prosecco is named for Italy’s La Marca Trevigiana zone.
This zone is located in the heart of Italy’s Prosecco region, where La Marca's grapes are grown. Founded more than 40 years ago, La Marca winery embraces both tradition and innovation, ensuring the highest quality product.
In 2007, La Marca Prosecco was named one of the “Top 100 Wines of the Year” by Wine Spectator magazine — the only Prosecco producer from the Veneto region to be so honored. It was quite a coup for winemaker Fabrizio Gatto, who has evolved into one of the most respected winemakers in Italy today.
Gatto has been head winemaker for Ecco Domani wines since the 1995 vintage, and is currently consulting winemaker for La Marca, supervising the production of La Marca’s line of sparkling Prosecco wines and their introduction into the American marketplace. This is one of those wines, a refreshing sparkler that makes a perfect pairing partner for spicy sushi.

Expert Ratings
($25; 47% grenache, 22% mourv e dre, 19% counoise, 10% cinsault and 2% syrah; 15.5% alcohol) Dark red. High-pitched aromas of red berries, cherry and blood orange, with complicating notes of dried rose and anise. Silky and penetrating, offering sweet raspberry and cherry flavors and a hint of licorice. Impressively lithe for a ripe wine, with strong finishing thrust and very good cling.
