  • “I ordered this on the label alone and was greatly surprised. It wasn't extremely sweet, which was actually wonderful. It has a big red start and a very nice smooth finish, it made it very easy to drink a whole bottle!”

  • “Interesting Label and a memorable wine. Reading the other three tasting notes you might be going what is up here. The 3 star rating, perhaps a bit harsh, is clear that this is not a traditional cabernet sauvignon profile. If you like Zin-blend with a hint of sweetness and strong cherry of a pinot you will likely enjoy this. As to the five scale rating, this is a very distinctive concoction, in that the tobacco notes are well belended with the oak. At times it felt very like a ruby port without the weight. Suggested movie pairing: I watched midnight in paris with this, seemed to fit.”

  • “Came across this Cabernet last year. Thought it was true to the cabernet profile and nicely developed cadence throught the cycle. Nose has delightful fruit, the feel texture was smooth, midnotes of oak were well balanced as the berry tones came thru. The finish was clean with just a bit of tannins lingering. Fair buy at this price.”

Waterfront Fun in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara has long been a weekend destination of the stars — mostly an older generation of film and television personalities who aren’t interested in Hollywood’s paparazzi scene.

It also has become a fine-dining destination, home to several outstanding restaurants in the downtown area. You also can eat and drink well just feet from the Pacific Ocean.

I’ve...[Continue reading »]

2 Ways to Taste Temecula

At last count, there were 34 wineries in Southern California’s Temecula Valley, not far from San Diego.

That means one can enjoy just about any type of “wine country” experience they can imagine, from guided cellar tours to fabulous concerts during the summer months.

The approaches to winemaking also are quite diverse. Take Foot Path Winery and Maurice...[Continue reading »]

The Best Season to Visit Napa

Which is the best season to visit California’s Napa Valley?

It depends on what you like... or don’t like... because each season has its own charms.

Personally, I try to avoid the summer months, even though the weather is wonderful, because that’s the high tourist season in the valley. Right in the middle of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, you’ll run...[Continue reading »]
