About This Wine

Napa is a valley of special winegrowing districts.

Among them is the Chiles Valley district, home of the Volker Eisele Family Estate, which has been organically farmed since 1974. The vineyard reflects the passion of the Eisele family’s commitment to grow exceptional grapes and produce elegant estate wines.

The 2013 Volker Eisele Cabernet Sauvignon represents a blend of vineyard blocks from throughout the estate. Varying terrain, different clones and different rootstocks produce a patchwork of flavor identities that, when combined, create a snapshot in time of a dynamic, ever-changing vineyard.

During the fall of 2013, each individual vineyard block was monitored for ripeness, and picked only when the grapes were ready. Winemaker Molly Lyman describes the cuvee as “round and lush, with the subtle spiciness of charred French oak. The tannins are broad and creamy, and linger well into the lengthy, sweetly smoky finish.” It’s a wonderful expression of the Eisele family’s estate vineyard.

About Cabernet Sauvignon

Deep color and richness with the potential to age a long time, and better still if aged in oak before bottling. Classic flavors blackcurrant, plum, cherry and spice. The most popular varietal of red wine in America.
