About This Wine
The Aaron Wines label was introduced in 2002 with a clear vision.
It was inspired by a desire to produce powerful, age-worthy wines from the rugged hills on the west side of California’s Paso Robles growing region. Seeking to create wines that veered from the norm, the efforts have focused around a variety the proprietors adored yet had no international benchmark — Petite Sirah.
“Sand & Stone” is always the most vibrant Aaron cuvee due to the large portion of Grenache that is included. Grenache thrives in the limestone soils of Paso Robles, and it seems as well suited there as in its traditional home in the Southern Rhone.
Coupled with the powerful nature of Petite Sirah, the 2015 “Sand & Stone,” of which only 10 barrels were made, showcases how tremendous freshness and overall drinkability can be brought to a rather powerful wine. Unfined and unfiltered, it’s brimming with pure, focused fruit flavor from start to finish.
