About This Wine
The Senda Verde label provides a collection of artisanal wines that have something very special in common.
All come from regions in northern Spain that follow the 43°N parallel, stretching from coastal Galicia eastward along the northern coastline. In contrast to the rest of Spain, this area is lush and green thanks to the oceanic and geologic influences. The region is referred to as “España Verde” (Green Spain).
Treixadura is the Spanish name for the Portuguese varietal Trajadura. It’s most often found in the D.O. of Ribeiro in Galicia, in the northwestern corner of Spain. Treixadura often is blended with one or more of the other varieties that grow in this cool region, which is famous for its crisp, dry whites.
But this 2015 vintage from Senda Verde is 100 percent Treixadura, allowing the variety to shine on its own. Light and delicate with slight sweetness on the finish, it’s a special wine from España Verde.
