About This Wine
The Caton Vineyard, located in Sonoma Valley’s Moon Mountain District, is a special place.
Sited on the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains, the vineyard is in a rugged setting that is ideal for growing world-class grapes. It experiences warm, moderate sunshine during the day and cool breezes in the evening. The 40-acre vineyard is spread out over 108 acres of steeply contoured hillsides that are as unique as the wines they produce.
Each distinct block is defined by its different sun exposures, soil type, incline, clone and elevation. That’s why Ty Caton makes a number of small-production Cabernet Sauvignon wines each year. Then he draws from those lots to craft his “Estate” Cabernet bottling.
The 2015 vintage is rich and robust, exuding an abundance of dark fruit flavors that cascade into a long and lingering finish. It’s a delicious ray of vinous sunshine from the Moon Mountain District.

Cabernet Sauvignon Ice Cream Our friends at Alexander Valley Vineyards came up with this wonderful recipe a few years ago. We've tried it with Cabernet Sauvignon as the recipe calls for, as well as Merlot, Primitivo, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel... and every time, it turns out delicious! It's best made with an ice cream maker, and if you have such a machine, it's extremely easy to assemble. Enjoy! Get The Recipe
