About This Wine

For most of us, our parents play important roles in our lives.

That’s certainly true for Ty Caton, who moved back to his hometown of Sonoma, Calif., after college. “I suggested to my parents that we partner in the development of their 108-acre property in the Mayacamas Mountain Range,” he says. “I was convinced that the property was pedigree land.”

He was right, and outstanding wines have been made under the Ty Caton and sister labels ever since. But Caton was not satisfied growing grapes and making wine. “I wanted to make extraordinary wines,” and he does that in a special way.

“Each year I make unique wines to honor my parents, Carlton Brooke and Sandy Caton,” he explains. “My promise to them is to pursue our shared goal of actively seeking excellence.” You can taste that commitment in the ninth vintage of the Carlton Brooke Petit Verdot, a full-bodied wine from a special place.
