About This Wine

Teamwork can count just as much in winemaking as it does in sports.

The Winner’s Tank highlights what can be accomplished when an extremely talented winemaker gets his hands on some premium grapes from South Australia’s Langhorne Creek growing region.

The Winner’s Tank is a venture between Reid Bosward of Kaesler Vineyards, and David and Cathy Knight, owners of The Winner’s Tank site. The name relates to an old water tank that sits in the corner of the vineyard. A strong rivalry exists among the three neighboring towns in the local Australian Rules Football competition. Each year, the winning team gets to paint the tank in its team colors.

Langhorne Creek is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, nestled among gum trees along the Bremer and Angas Rivers. Less than a one-hour drive from Adelaide, it produces world-class wine grapes — and, under the team-driven “Winner’s Tank” label, a winning Shiraz wine.

About Shiraz

Very dark, rich, powerful wines with great aging potential (as long as 50 years), yet still can be drunk relatively young. Distinct pepper, spice, cherry and leather flavors, with smooth, supple texture. Embodied in majestic wines from France, Australia and, increasingly, California.
