About This Wine
The heart of California’s Lodi appellation produces some of the finest Merlot grapes in the world.
The temperate Mediterranean climate of the region, featuring warm days and cool evenings, is what makes it possible for Old School Lane to produce rich, full wines to please even the most refined palate.
Located between the San Francisco Bay and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Lodi is quickly emerging as one of California’s most exciting wine destinations. Over the past decade, fourth- and fifth-generation winegrowers, dedicated to the soils and the vines, have brought creative winemaking and cutting-edge technology to the region, catapulting Lodi into the spotlight.
The region grows all of California’s leading varieties, and has long been a producer of some of the state’s finest Merlot grapes — many of which are bought by Napa Valley and Sonoma County wineries to include in their cuvees. Here’s an opportunity to taste what all the excitement is about.
Similar to Cabernet Sauvignon but with less tannin and fruit. Delivers earlier maturing wines. Often blended with Cabernet; on its own may soften with age, though fruit flavors may fade.

Cabernet Sauvignon Ice Cream Our friends at Alexander Valley Vineyards came up with this wonderful recipe a few years ago. We've tried it with Cabernet Sauvignon as the recipe calls for, as well as Merlot, Primitivo, Cabernet Franc and Zinfandel... and every time, it turns out delicious! It's best made with an ice cream maker, and if you have such a machine, it's extremely easy to assemble. Enjoy! Get The Recipe
