About This Wine
Heart Castle is considered the crown jewel of San Luis Obispo County.
But the land it overlooks — SLO wine country — in recent years has become the main reason visitors flock to this special section of California’s Central Coast. The vineyards of SLO wine country unfold along the seafront side of the coastal Santa Lucia Mountain Range, where the land exhibits a distinct set of growing conditions that bind the region’s wines.
From north to south, the SLO coast extends from the seaside town of San Simeon to Nipomo. From east to west, it extends from the peaks of the Santa Lucia range to the Pacific Ocean. The geographic orientation of SLO wine country ensures a continuous influence of marine air from the Pacific.
Indian Creek sourced the grapes for its 2017 Malbec from this special place, and crafted them into a rich, full-bodied, spice-tinged wine that is worthy of royalty.
A midseason ripener, it can bring very deep color, ample tannin, and a particular plum-like flavor component to add complexity to claret blends.
