About This Wine:
You’ve come to the right place, as Scorpeta makes a benchmark Pinot Grigio from Provincia di Pavia, a key Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) in the Lombardy region in the heart of northern Italy. The IGT designation allows vintners to craft any wines they want, rather than limiting them to specific varieties.
Pavia is Lombardy's westernmost province, and borders Piedmont. Its western edge is defined by the confluence of two of Italy's great wine rivers, the Po and the Tanaro, with all of the wine production taking place on the southern side of the Po River.
While the local farmers grow numerous grape varieties, the star among the white varieties is Pinot Grigio, and Scorpeta crafts a particularly stellar rendition. The 2017 vintage was aged in stainless steel tanks to preserve its floral and fruitful characteristics. It’s a sumptuous taste of authentic Italian Pinot Grigio.
