About This Wine:
Although its historic roots can be traced to the Burgundy region of France, Pinot Grigio ultimately found its way to northern Italy, and that’s where the real story of the variety begins. After finding success there — particularly in Lombardy, where Provincia di Pavia is located — it was only a matter of time until its popularity spread to the United States.
Winemaker Federico Stella has a deft touch with Pinot Grigio, protecting the floral and fruitful qualities of the special Provincia di Pavia fruit by aging the wine in stainless steel tanks, which add no aromas or flavors to the cuvee.
By eschewing oak barrels, he was able to craft a wine that paints an accurate picture of both the variety and the region. It’s also a sublime food wine, pairing particularly nicely with light fish dishes.
