About This Wine:
It’s a complex variety on its own, with a tannin structure that provides great aging potential. But when you add oak influences to an already wide spectrum of aromas and flavors, there is the potential for truly world-class wines.
And so it is with the 2017 Matchmaker Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s a wine that began — like all great wines — with outstanding fruit. In this case, the grapes came from the Paso Robles area of California’s Central Coast growing region. After fermentation, the wine was first introduced to French oak, and then later transferred to American oak barrels.
It’s difficult to imagine a more robust or engaging rendition of Cabernet Sauvignon, as it seamlessly melds the best qualities of the Cabernet variety with the influences of French and American oak aging. Think of it as liquid art.
