About This Wine:
When it comes to enjoying the gifts of the sea, Albarino makes a wonderful companion. Although accounts differ over the variety’s origin — some say the Galicia region of Spain, while others insist it’s northern Portugal — all that really matters is that smart growers and vintners in California also have embraced it.
Fossil Canyon procures its Albarino grapes from the Paso Robles Highlands area in California’s vast Central Coast region. Specifically, the grapes are grown in the acclaimed French Camp Vineyard, which is sited some 1,600 feet above sea level and is sustainably farmed.
Sustainable farming produces perfectly ripened and healthy wine grapes, the key to making an outstanding wine. Fossil Canyon’s 2017 Albarino is rich and medium bodied, with crisp acidity that makes it refreshing, and a soft oily texture on the finish. Bring out the seafood… the Iberico ham… or the Manchego cheese!
