About This Wine:
The property sits between the Famatina and Velasco Mountain ranges, which branch off the Andes. The region has a special microclimate, with hot and dry summer days and cool nights, combined with clean air and desert-like topography to ensure outstanding ripening conditions for grapes.
Only the best fruit goes into La Puerta Alta wines, which are both estate grown and estate bottled. The grapes are hand picked from drip-irrigated vines which are hand pruned and canopy managed for optimum flavor ripeness and concentration.
While there is a varietal Malbec among La Puerta Alta’s wines, this featured bottling is a 6:4 blend of Malbec and Bonarda. The latter variety is known as Charbono in America, where most of the plantings can be found in the Napa Valley. This cuvee is complex, rich and full-bodied, and begs for another sip.
