About This Wine:
Situated in inland Argentina, close to the Andes Mountain range and at a lower altitude than Mendoza, the area has a desert climate of warm days and cold nights that are ideal for the crafting of elegant wines — including Pinot Noir.
The alpataco — the name taken for this special line of wines from Familia Schroeder — is an indigenous bush that symbolizes the tenacity of life in Patagonian agriculture. The climate forces the vines to fight for the clusters of grapes they produce, and the low yields and meticulous winemaking result in fresh and delicate elixirs.
Winemaker Leonardo Puppato describes the 2017 Alpataco Pinot Noir as “light red with bright flashes.” Its red fruit aromas entice the nose, and the wine is “soft and fresh in the mouth with elegant persistence.” It’s a wine that deliciously reveals the hidden passions of Patagonia.
