Varietal: Pinot Noir

About This Wine:
Both varieties prefer cool climes, and the American Viticultural Area known as Carneros is influenced by the cooling effect of the Pacific Ocean, California’s Coast Mountain Ranges and San Francisco Bay. They combine to provide a mix of summer fog, warm days and a long growing season.
Carneros became an official AVA in 1983, and the maritime influences affect the region’s terroir and put a distinctive stamp on its grapes. The 1980s were marked by skyrocketing development as hundreds of acres of land were planted to vineyard — both on the Sonoma and Napa county sides of the AVA.
Gracenote’s 2018 Pinot Noir was crafted from Carneros grapes grown on the Napa side, and it shows off plenty of cherry and berry fruit along with subtle oak notes. It’s an exceptional wine from an exceptional growing area.
