About This Wine:

The vineyard was planted in the late 1960s by a founding fathers of the modern Australian wine industry, Len Evans. Its current custodians, Bill and Vicki Widin, bought the original vineyard in 2008, and along with senior winemaker Mark Woods have earned international accolades, including the International Wine Competition trophy for Best New Wine.

An ultra-modern winemaking facility has been built as a showpiece in the middle of Brokenback Vineyard, and includes a cellar door (tasting room), The Gates Restaurant, a wedding venue and The Gatehouse accommodation (guest house).

Leogate crafts a variety of wines, including the French-styled “The Gatecrasher La Perouse,” which displays a delightfully rounded palate and a generous mix of red and blue fruits, balanced by fine, silky tannins. It offers excellent drinking now or will develop further with careful cellaring.
