About This Wine:

Horse Heaven Hills is located in the south-central part of the state, along the Washington-Oregon border. The area takes its name from an early pioneer who, upon seeing the region and its wide prairies and expanses, commented, ‘‘Surely, this is Horse Heaven!”

Two-thirds of the vineyard acreage is planted to red wine grapes, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot dominating. Many vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills are planted on south-facing slopes, providing for extended sun exposure, which helps with ripening during the harvest season.

2018 provided nearly perfect harvest conditions in the region, which meant that winemakers Gordon Hill and Alex Cose had exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with which to work in the cellar. The resulting Dublin Ranch Cabernet is dark garnet in hue, flavorful on the palate, varietally correct and an absolute delight to drink.
