About This Wine:
Located in the northern part of California’s San Luis Obispo County, it was traversed by the Franciscan friars as they headed north and established missions along the King’s Highway (also known as El Camino Real). The mission fathers and the Indians of the area appreciated (and utilized) the area’s hot springs.
Later, land grants helped establish ranches for raising cattle and sheep. Fruit and nut orchards also were planted, and for a time Paso Robles was known as the “Almond City.” Today, while much of the history endures in various parts of the area, Paso Robles has emerged as one of California’s top regions for growing grapes and making wine.
Tarrica Wines Cellars uses grapes grown in Paso Robles for crafting its Merlot, and its 2018 vintage is clean, fruity and juicy — an exceptional wine from a storied area of California.
