About This Wine:

That is the mantra at Alexandre Sirech, a Bordeaux estate that experiments with various varietals and blending percentages to achieve what it calls the “ideal equilibrium” in the finished wines. “This is our special expertise.”

Alexandre Sirech’s “Le Bordeaux” was crafted from grapes grown in a single vineyard in the village of Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion, and its vintner thinks of it as a classic “Right Bank” Bordeaux. Whereas most people associate Cabernet Sauvignon with Bordeaux, “Right Bank” renditions typically are based on Merlot.

Alexandre Sirech blends the finest Merlot grapes with equally ripened Cabernet Franc grapes in making its “Le Bordeaux” cuvee. The 2016 vintage is an intense and brilliant dark red color, full in body and rich in the mouth, with a very long and lingering finish. It’s an outstanding example not only of a “Right Bank” red cuvee, but also of the benefits of “total blending freedom.”
