About This Wine:

That’s because it is extremely fragrant, and can help elevate the nose of Cabernet Sauvignon wines. Some vintners think of it almost like an insurance policy in vintages when their Cabernet Sauvignon may be a bit “closed.”

In France, outside of Bordeaux, there is a region where Cabernet Franc actually reigns supreme: the Loire. There, the climate and terroir give it a somewhat herbal quality. But in California’s Lodi district, Cabernet Franc can be crafted into a wine that’s extremely complex and enjoyable.

Braxton Hall’s 2018 Cabernet Franc, crafted from Lodi-grown grapes, is a great example. Showing some high tones in the nose, outstanding structure on the palate, and good length on the finish, it’s a wine that showcases a nice mix of fruit and spice nuances. It’s a delicious example of Cabernet Franc’s worthiness for a starring role.
