About This Wine:
The Chilean winery traces its origins to October 6, 1961, when it was founded by Santiago Achurra Larraín. In June of 1981, the second generation of the Achurra family, Santiago Achurra Hernandez, joined the company. That December, the entire company was purchased by Ramon Anchurra Larrain, Felipe Zaldivar Larrain and Manuel Antonio Tocornonal.
They oversee a very special winery in a very special place in Chile’s Central Valley, which has gained a worldwide reputation for producing wines of exceptional quality. That valley now stands side-by-side with Argentina’s Mendoza region as the hub of quality South American winemaking.
The 2018 Samaritano Merlot is a special wine, a medium-bodied beauty that’s expressive in the glass, exhibits soft tannins and cascades to a gentle finish. Try it with your favorite red meat or pasta dishes for a delightful culinary treat.
