About This Wine:

There’s still a winery operating in downtown Los Angeles, and a handful now make very small amounts of wine in the O.C. But before the Southern California population exploded, there were significant vineyard plantings, including some very close to what today is the Disneyland Resort.

These days, one must venture farther inland to find grapevines. In addition to Los Angeles and Orange, the counties of Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego comprise the South Coast viticultural area, with the Temecula Valley being the primary home of extensive vineyards.

The South Coast AVA provided the grapes for Old School Lane Cellars’ 2019 Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is floral and fruity, and one tasting panel member said it made him think of being in Hawaii. So pour a glass, and prepare for an armchair culinary adventure like no other.
