About This Wine:
So while it isn’t “wine country” from a tourism standpoint, it has become a hub of quality grape growing and winemaking. At present, about 2,165 acres are planted to vineyards there. Chardonnay vines cover just under a fifth of the wine grape acreage, and there are 27 different varieties represented — including some of the most flavorful Syrah you’ll find in all of San Luis Obispo County.
West Ridge Vineyards sources its Syrah grapes from a sustainably farmed vineyard in the Highlands District, then uses them to craft a wine that is deep in color, complex in aroma, nicely balanced in weight, and long and flavorful in the finish. Barrel aging enhanced an already engaging aroma and flavor profile.
Pour a glass of West Ridge Syrah, and enjoy the fruits of the Paso Robles Highlands District. It’s the next-best thing to being there.
