About This Wine:
Located north of Lyon in eastern France, Beaujolais overlaps Burgundy in the north and the Rhone in the south. Morgon is the second largest Beaujolais cru after Brouilly, and is named after the local hamlet of Morgon, which is in the center of the area and borders the village of Villié-Morgon.
Six generations of the Gachot family, beginning with Joseph in 1850, have farmed the land in Morgon. Winemaking began in earnest in 1973 when the family bottled a few barrels to share with friends. Those folks shared it with others, and before long, the wines had a following.
Today, Domaine J Boulon is a dependable source of exceptional Beaujolais wines made from the Gamay grape. The 2018 vintage is bright and powerful, with abundant sweet cherry flavor — an absolute delight to drink.
