It’s Mendocino County, where an ocean-cooled climate enables farmers to grow a wide range of grape varieties. But it’s not just about the climate. Mendocino grape growers are known for their cutting-edge approach and perfecting sustainable practices in their vineyards.

In fact, Mendocino County has the greatest acreage of certified organic vineyards in the country. The majority of the region’s 570 vineyards remain in the hands of family farmers, many of whom have lived for two or more generations on their land — some tracing their roots to the first settlers in the 1850s.

Aurelia Cellars sourced the grapes for its 2019 Merlot from this special place. The wine has a perfectly balanced palate, showcasing fruit flavor that’s juicy without being sweet. Its structure bodes well for mid-term aging, but it's a wine that is ready to enjoy now.
