Garnet in hue, this beautifully balanced Cab is a wine of exceptional weight, length and flavor.
About This Wine:
Since gaining status as an official American Viticultural Area in 2005, the Horse Heaven Hills AVA in Washington has produced no less than five 100-point wines. It’s a track record of success unparalleled in the Pacific Northwest.
Located in the larger Columbia Valley AVA, Horse Heaven Hills is home to some of Washington's oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which were planted in 1972 by Walter Clore, a Washington State University researcher. The area lies south of the Horse Heaven Hills themselves, so named when an early pioneer declared the rolling, grass-covered ridge of hills a “horse’s heaven.” Today, it’s a winemaker’s heaven.
Knoll Haven sourced the grapes for its 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon from this special place, and crafted a wine that is beautifully balanced and engaging. Take a sip, and you’ll understand why the region truly is a slice of heaven.
