From rolling hills to towering redwoods to stately apple orchards to venerable dairy farms, the scenery along the North Coast is as memorable as the region’s wine. With one of the coolest climates in the state, the region is home to more than half of California’s wineries.
The growing areas of the North Coast are Lake County, Los Carneros, Mendocino County, Napa Valley, Solano County and Sonoma County. This American Viticultural Area is vast, covering more than 3 million acres of land north of San Francisco.
