About This Wine:
It has a welcoming second home in the Dunnigan Hills of California’s Yolo County, part of the vast Sacramento Valley. Located in the northwest portion of the county, the wine region has a Mediterranean climate that is less prone to frost than other parts of the valley.
The Dunnigan Hills American Viticultural Area encompasses 69,000 acres, with roughly 1,300 acres planted to grapevines. There, the summer days are hot, averaging between 95 and 98 degrees, but at night the temperatures cool to between 55 and 65. This tremendous drop in temperature enables the grapes to cool, which preserves their natural acidity.
Ample acidity is one key to the quality of Verdejo, and the 2019 Bodega Mariposa Verdejo is a perfectly balanced wine that’s fresh on the palate, fruit-forward in flavor and a delight to drink.
