Working together, a group of enlightened winemakers are collectively open to change, whether it’s in the cellar or the vineyard. In the case of the vineyard, located in Italy’s Terre Siciliane region, change also required patience, as new plantings needed years before the vines produced wine-worthy grapes.

Today, Belli Mondi wines — including an exceptional bottling of Aglianico — reach more than 40 countries. DNA analyses have determined that Aglianico is ancestral to such grapes as Syrah, Teroldego and Negroamaro. It’s known to produce expressive red wines with good aging potential.

The structure and richness of Aglianico makes it a popular grape for blending in southern Italy. But this is a varietal Aglianico, a wine that shows off wonderful fruit flavors that are framed by enticing cocoa and spice notes. It’s a soft, approachable wine crafted by a team of talented vintners.
