About This Wine:
Chateau Le Manceau is situated on a hill in the commune of Saint-Androny, on the right bank of the Gironde estuary opposite the Médoc to the west. The estate vineyard is planted exclusively to Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the two star varietals of Bordeaux.
The vineyard is meticulously tended, with grass planted in every other row, and the others ploughed and turned over to help regularly redistribute the nutrients and maximize the quality of the grapes produced. Proprietor Stephane Lesparre manages the family estate, overseeing the operation from grape to glass.
This is an area of Bordeaux where Merlot dominates the plantings, and that is reflected in Chateau Le Manceau’s Grand Vin, which consists of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. The cuvee is smooth on the palate and delights the taste buds with its fruit and spice flavors.
