About This Wine:
In France, Bordeaux is the Cabernet capital, while in America the most famous Cab region is California’s North Coast, home to the Napa Valley and Sonoma County. The hillside vineyard that produced the grapes for the Ferox Cabernet Sauvignon is located in Sonoma’s Alexander Valley, just outside the town of Healdsburg.
The 2016 vintage has been described as having the rich, smooth flavor of a French Cabernet, no doubt because the winemaker, Philippe Langner, gained experience at his family’s Chateau Clarke in Bordeaux. Today, he consults for a select group of wineries, including Ferox.
This is the first Cabernet ever produced by Ferox, with a limited release of 250 cases. It’s a powerful and rich wine that mirrors the style of Bordeaux while simultaneously showcasing the lush dark fruit flavors for which Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley has become widely acclaimed.
