2019 Melifluo California 'Winemaker's Blend' Red Wine

It’s a smooth, flat surface on which an artist can mix colors before painting. Nuance and shading are created, limited only by the artist’s imagination. Now imagine a winery cellar filled with numerous varieties of red wine. It’s the equivalent of an artist’s palette.

With 70% of the wine in barrel coming from California’s North Coast region, including Sonoma County, quality was not an issue. The only thing that the vintner for Melifluo had to consider was creating the finest cuvee possible — a wine worthy of being labeled, “Winemaker’s Blend.”

Nearly equal portions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir — two varieties rarely found in the same cuvee — were selected to provide the backbone of the wine. A smaller portion of Zindandel was added for complexity. And the blend was rounded out by small amounts of several other varieties. The result: a truly delicious wine, from the winemaker’s palette to your palate.
